Currently nine locations across Carolina Beach, these works of art display intricate, colorful and unique public art, each painted by a different North Carolina artist and showcasing distinct styles and themes depicting the town’s free-spirited and laid-back beach town vibe.

“Surf & See”

The building once a busy bait shop used by locals and tourists is now location of mural #2. It is currently the Veggie Wagon Produce and Specialty Shop that services both visitors and locals. Artist: Carla Garrison-Mattos

“Carolina Dreamin”

Located in the center of town near the Carolina Beach Boardwalk at Crush & Grind, the 3rd mural “Carolina Dreamin’” was inspired by Carolina Beach’s brilliant sunrises, the native flora in the dunes and the surfers who are eager to catch an early morning wave. Artist: Jason Parker

“Record Weekend”

Mural #4 celebrates Carolina Beach’s decades-long reputation as a destination for live music. This wall is on the north facing side of Sea Witch Tiki Bar. Artist: Sharon Dowell

“Summer on the Boardwalk”

Celebrating the boardwalk, amusement, carnival and fireworks which light up the summer sky with brilliant flare. Mural #5 is located on the west facing and north facing walls of Hurricane Alleys. Artist: Scott Nurkin

“This Must Be the Place”

Located on the brick wall of the Savannah Inn, Mural #6. highlights the significance fishing, boating and life on the water play in the culture of Carolina Beach. Artist: Gina Elizabeth Franco

“Indigenous Fly Feaster”

Mural #7 you will see during your breakfast at Kate’s Pancake House. This building was originally a drive thru Tastee Freeze in the 50’s. Today Kate’s is a favorite breakfast spot for both local and visitors to the island. Artist: Tiffany Machler

“Marine Magic”

Located on the exterior of The Dive, Mural #8 illustrates the marine life of Carolina Beach. Bringing to life an underwater scene featuring a larger-than-life shark, turtle and jellyfish in a kaleidoscope of bright colors. Author: Raman Bhardwaj

Mural #9

This mural will be installed at 915 N. Lake Park Blvd in Spring of 2022. This building was once the Bingo Hall and a Roller Skating Rink. Be sure to follow Carolina Beach Mural Project for the latest updates.
