Beach Vacation Checklist Advice For Your Packing
- Planning – Preparing a couple of weeks in advance will allow you to purchase the things you don’t already have for your trip, especially sunscreen.
- Check the local weather so your sure you pack the right clothing and supplies.
- Can your kids swim, you may need to bring or purchase ahead swim supports like life vests or floaties? These items can take up space, so pack them in an extra bag.
- Will you be going on adventures like surfing, snorkeling, paddle boarding or Kayaking? (you may need water shoes).
- Will you buy a lot of souvenirs? Pack an extra bag for those as well.
- Make sure you select the right luggage for your vacation.
- Choose the best way to pack that works for you, like rolling your clothes instead of folding them. Often your clothing comes out better that way after traveling. It also makes more room in your suitcase.
- Use packing cubes, they really help you pack like a pro and stay organized.
Sun Protection
Other than your swimsuit, having the right sun protection is the other most important things you’ll be bringing to the beach. Nothing worse than having a vacation spoiled because of a nasty sunburn on you or the kids! A day at the beach can cause all kinds of skin damage. Pro tip: Apply before heading to the beach and then again often throughout the day. Also, don’t forget a good SPF lip balm.
Beach Tip: In case you do get sunburnt, a bottle of Aloe Vera will help. But an even better sunburn treatment may be Apple cider vinegar! It smells terrible but it works miracles to take the sting out of a bad burn and speed up the healing process. Plus, it doesn’t feel sticky and gross on your skin. Pack a little spray bottle full of apple cider vinegar to bring on your beach trip.
